Please allow me to introduce my riding school, and describe briefly what I do here.
Little Britain Stables is not only a boarding facility, but also a riding school for beginning through advanced riders. Amateur owners can find professional help with their horses whether they are trail riders, or headed to the show ring.
Available to the public are activities such as pony rides, lessons, winter tournaments, academy shows, country fair shows, 90 acres with trails, clinics, youth activities, camps, and riding school memberships.
For the American Saddlebred enthusiast, professional training and showing are specialties offered.
Some of the benefits of being involved with horses are improved self-esteem, total physical workout, a sense of responsibility, camaraderie, personal satisfaction, source of relation and many more. Through my own experiences, I have learned that not all children are necessarily suited to group or team sports. Focusing my efforts on horses allowed me to find an area in which I could excel. I am able to say that my childhood hobby has led to a very rewarding career. There are many colleges today that offer horsemanship as a class, minor, or major. There are also colleges that offer Equestrian scholarships.
Since becoming an adult myself, I have come to understand what my adult students and clients gain from their time at the stable. Stress relief and exercise being just two of the many benefits.
In closing, I would like to ask you to consider Little Britain Stables and Riding School for any child or adult who you think would benefit from horsemanship and all that goes with it.
Boarding: LBS offers full and partial board. We have a new barn in which we offer stall only rental while making available needed support at a reasonable rate.
Riding School: We offer instruction which gives riders a strong foundation that is needed to advance to what ever discipline is chosen. School horses range from docile beginner horses to advanced horses of many breeds. We also offer to a limited number of students a place in our working student program. All riders may participate in a certification program designed to document their equine accomplishments. For our students who want more horse time or would like to show we offer a limited amount of horses for sale or lease.
Equine simulators: Simulators are available for rental and are used in conjunction with live horse lessons. The simulators allow riders to perform specific exercises for prolonged periods and are useful in gaining confidence prior to a live horse ride.
Competitions: These include winter tournaments which are used as recitals for riders not choosing showing as a goal, new riders on the path to the show ring, and show riders who want work on showmanship or simple stay sharp.
Training: We offer training for show horses, young horses needing a professional start, problem horses, and maintenance for older horses with new riders.
Summer camps: These are a great way to kick start beginners riding, and allow campers to experience daily horse owner life for a better understanding of the responsibility keeping one's own horse.
Birthday parties: We host parties year round in the indoor arena with our gentle ponies.
